Overall, i would say that this game is worth the buy even at full price, but i would wait for any kind of sale as well.. Poorly written characters. Meh storyline. Overall sub-par vibe. But still, not the worst way to waste time.. It's an amazing game with a wonderful soundtrack and since it's Winter sale is 50% off I decided it would be appropriate to finally review it! I've done all of the routes and honestly can't get enough of it! The art totally fits my aesthetic, the dialog is enriching with a smart sense of humor. Whatever expectations you hold for this game doesn't matter since this has something for everyone, I very much reccomend this game!. Honestly one of the best games I've played in a while. I loved all of the characters and made sure to play for each ending. I have yet to get all of the achievements, but I only have one or two left and they aren't difficult to get. This game was very well written. I laughed and cried over this game. Frankie was my first choice, but after finishing the entire story, I had to go for Kyle. Then I just said what the heck and went through all of the guys' stories. All the characters are well thought out and actually feel real and not cliche or boring like some games. I wanted to know all of their stories and usually that's not the case for games like this. Seriously, this game is amazing. If you were unsure whether you should buy this or not...do it. You'll love it as much as I did.. okay, I need to sum this up as best as a I can without it being just me wanting to cry.I got Kyle's good ending and boy, was that a heart breaking moment. Ive had alot of heart breaking moments, and boy. was that one of them... this was a well done game, and i'll admit, i used some internet searching because I was afraid of certain choices i would make, most of the choices that were suggested were ones I wouldve made orignally, so boy did that wash away some thoughts.I cried.I cried alot.I have feelings.and I wanna vomit these feelings.. This is a great game - good art, good story, good characters, fine work all the way around. My only major complaint is the big emotional drama centered around Kyle which gets dropped into the middle of the other routes. It's really off-putting if you don't particularly like Kyle or care about what happens to him. I would've preferred more focus on the guy whose route you're on. There are also a few minor bugs/typos, but on the whole, this game is well worth the money!. It's really, really quite good. I like 4/5 of the guys, and think overall, this visual novel was surprising, and in really good ways.I think the only complaints I can give are that there are very few CG, the music is average, and that the routes kinda play out the same for each guy, which is a shame considering one of the characters.However, it's still a really, really good game with fantastic characterization, enjoyable depth, and well-rounded guys!. Animal Lover has easily made it's way into my top 10 favorite visual novels, just after one playthrough. I'll admit I was very skeptical with the title at first since the whole animal/human combo character (or whatever you want to call them) aren't really my schtick. But the price was right, I had the money in my wallet, why not. The pacing of the game is something that is pretty slow, but not in a bad way. From what I can tell the game isn't necessarily divided into traditional routes, where you make decisions and then spend 99% of the time with your chosen character for the rest of game. Honestly, the game itself reads more as a story of these six strangers who come together through the weirdest of circumstances and how they basically become a sort of support/family unit. The romance is still definitely there, that's just my opinion on the matter.One thing I really want to gush about is the MC. Oh. My. Gosh. She is WONDERFUL. Like the way the devs wrote her she feels so real? And there were things about her that I could specifically identify with or one of the choices that she could make was exactly what I was thinking. She actually has a personality and emotions. She gets mad, sad, annoyed, embarrassed. She acts strong but also has moments of weakness, she's an actual character. And it's just....so fricking wonderful. The other characters are all amazing as well, all the boys are distinctly different with their backgrounds and personalities. I'm really excited to read through the other routes and see what else is going on with them. Although, I'll be honest Miguel already holds the number one spot in my heart. It's gonna be darn near impossible to top that. The other important aspect of any VN, the story. Like I said, the pacing is a little slow, but it works. These characters have to take things a day or two at a time. While the plot isn't realistic, the pacing is. I never really found myself bored, there was always a new interested side character or plot moment around the corner to keep me intrigued. If you're a skeptic because of the title like me, trust the devs that that isn't what the game is. This is a game that will hopefully sneak it's way into your heart like it did mine, as cheesy as that phrasing is. Definitely pick this one up for your library.. I loved playing this game. Debated getting this, but ended up just getting it and was totally worth it. Love the characters in the game. One of the better Visual Novels I seen and played.
