XD. This title isn't bad. There are a lot of favorable comparisons to Capitalism though and I feel it should be said that this game does not meet the level of depth that Capitalism offers. If you want more streamlined easier to follow game with the same theme as Capitalism this might be a decent choice. This title offers some interesting supply chains but everything else is pretty much decided for you. If you want a much more complete sim of materials and goods production and sale look up Capitalism Lab.. My verdict is certainly in.If you've played Capitalism 2 and liked it you'll probably like this. It's very similar in concept. I'll say this:Capitalism 2 was better on the finance side. Way more in depth with bonds, stocks, etc.THIS is way more in depth on the PRODUCTION\/LOGISTICS side. Like, unbelievably deep.I like it.. So in Industry Manager I started off as a small time Software company specialising in Social Networking. After I created my version of Facebook, I took the company global and began making a tidy profit. With the funds I created my own Anti-virus brand and created a sole corporate monopoly in the computer security sector.With Business Booming I branched into the games industry. Focussing on both PC & Console gaming, the demand for great games was high. I couldn't keep up with consumer demand. Being the only games developer on the planet I built numerous software studios and hired an incredible amount of staff. Even though products in Industry Manager are faceless and you have no control over specifics, I must have developed a game called 'No Man's Pie'... It must have gotten a lot of hype, as I reduced the quality and content of this game in development to squeeze more cash out of mindless consumers. Sales exploded! Then I crashed the video games market, because my company must have lied about everything in the game.Now bleeding as much cash in what I can only presume was lawsuits, I sold everything. Narrowly escaping bankruptcy by only a few thousand... Not to be defeated, I changed direction and moved into the food industry. Using my experience by lying in the gaming industry, my first product was Organic Milk. Created from a whole range of Genetically Modified ingredients.. My skin was saved! I went on to push my competitors out of business and poisoned the populace for financial gain by becoming Monsanto!10/10 - Would imitate real life evil corporations again!. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game. As compared to Capitalism II, the economy here is strange, frustrating, and down right illogical. For example, I am making 100 Quality Flu Vaccine and almost have a complete monopoly on it, however, if I charge more than 2 dollars from the production price, people stop buying. Then suddenly, a competitor releases a 1 Quality Flu Vaccine which is 4 dollars cheaper and he suddenly cornered 1/3 of the market. One more way this game frustrates me is that it feels like it punishes me for having the highest quality goods. I max out the quality and I am not allowed to have a large profit margin, if I sell at a much higher price than my production costs, no one buys it. That means no matter how much effort I put in to lowering production costs, my selling price will have to lower with it. With over a dozen different products, I can't seem to go over a steady 10,000 dollars a day in profits while maitaining 100 quality goods and a research team that keeps me on top.While the stock market is simpler and easier to use in this game than Capitalism II, there doesn't seem to be any dividends given out so I don't see point in buying shares of competitors unless I want to outright buy them out. I didn't get a chance to try as it felt futile even after buying 20 percent of a competitor.Resource production does not have too much of a benefit. The only one I saw was the assurance that you don't run out from the global market. But, as stated above, having cheap raw materials cuts down on production and you are forced to lower your selling price because if your profit margin is large, people stop buying. Finally, after 15 in game years, the demand for products we the same, no increase or decrease.There are many things in this game that are great improvements over Capitalism II but no, sorry. I still prefer Capitalism II. If you have not played that game, you will probably be less disappointed with this game.. Can't give thumbs up at this time due to bad game design. Last game i didn't bother producing anything, just focus on retail. By loads of food etc and within a year a was making 120 times as much as my strongest competitor.You could probably just buy a few warehouses and all of the retail slots, focus on retail and the AI couldn't even sell anything for a decent price.Materials on the open market are abundant, coming from some outside random? source.Sure i could do the whole production line thing but it's clunky and im dubious about the AI anyway. Hope the game will be overhauled but right now it's fairly pointless and not terribly fun.. Interesting economical simulation. Like it would buy it again.... A very nice management game. Quite similar to Capitalism though the Stock Market is more simple (Railroad Tycoon 2 style).The graphics are nice and polished, pleasant to look at. The UI is very good, they did a terrific job on it, there's no unnecessary information and the look of it is clean and tidy. I highly recommend you do the tutorial, as it is very very quick , you will immediatly become used to how the game works.There is a great amount of products to choose from, computers, smart phones, cars, vaccines,food, jewelry you name it. You can even research even hitech futuristic products like hover-cars, holographic TV's, Self-cleaning clothing :DProducts are separated by Factory type. for ex: Personal Electronics Factory builds phones , tablets ,etcVehicle Factory builds cars and trucksBiotech Factory produces Medicine, etcThe prices and the amount of profit you can earn depend from product to product, so this keeps thingsinteresting while you try and find what is most profitable. As an example, i setup a factory with 40 workers producingSmart phones, selling them at 800 euro's each, maxed my advertisement to lvl 4 (except drones), and my income immediatly doubled to 100,000 euros per day. meaning, they are quite profitable.The Research is relatively fast and makes the game interesting, as you are always progressing.Among the things you will want to research is more worker capacity and lower costs (especially important on your factories)If you played any Capitalism game, you would know that the 2 most important things are: 1.Quality (of product)2.Brand (gained through Advertisement). It works pretty much the same in Industry Manager, though, so far the benefits of Quality seem to be too little, but the devs are improving and tweaking the game, so it might be solved later.As a sidenote, the game loads and saves very fast, and runs rock solid, no bugs or anything , just a remarkably stable game.As someone who likes management games and waited for years for a successor to Capitalism , after seeing a lot of mediocre attempts at management games (really, the genre has been incredibly neglected), i must say i highly recommend you give Industry Manager a try. I'm having as much fun as i had playing Capitalism 1&2 or Railroad Tycoon 2.. Useless game. It might help if it lets you get through the tutorials without crashing after every operation. Totally unplayable at the moment.
